What is Ascension Day?
Ascension Day is a Christian holiday celebrated 40 days after Easter Sunday. It commemorates the ascension of Jesus Christ into heaven, as described in the New Testament. In Indonesia, it is a national public holiday observed by many, and government offices — including immigration — are typically closed in observance.
