What is Eid al-Adha?

Eid al-Adha, also known as the “Festival of Sacrifice,” is one of the most significant holidays in Islam. It honors the willingness of Prophet Ibrahim to sacrifice his son as an act of obedience to God. In Indonesia, this day is celebrated as a national public holiday, and many government offices — including immigration — close in observance.
