The E30 Visa is designed for foreign students looking to study in Indonesia. It permits students to live in Bali or anywhere in the country for the length of their studies at an accredited educational institution.
The E30 Student Visa is valid for one or two years and can be extended as long as the student remains enrolled in an Indonesian college for a bachelor’s, master’s, or doctoral degree. Take note that this visa does not permit the student to work while in Indonesia. This visa allows you to:
- Carry out activities related to education in Indonesia.
- Bring eligible members of your family.
- Enter and leave the territory of Indonesia as long as the re-entry permit is still valid.
- Conduct activities related to tourism and visiting friends or family.
This visa doesn’t allow you to:
- Stay in Indonesia after your visa expires.
- Sell goods or services in Indonesia.
- Working for and receiving compensation/wages from Indonesian companies or individuals.
Requirements
Passport validity
Passport that is valid for at least 6 (six) months.
Recent photograph
A recent color portrait photograph of you.
Personal bank statement
Min. USD $2,000 covering the last 3 months (name, date, and balance).
Guarantee Letter
From an Indonesian citizen or the educational institution.
Letter of Acceptance
Letter of acceptance from the educational institution in Indonesia.
If you’re applying inside Indonesia you are required to submit your current visa (must still be valid for at least 30 days)

How long is the E30 Student Visa valid and can it be extended?
The E30 Student Visa is valid for one year or two years, but the good news is that it can be extended as long as you’re actively enrolled in your academic program. As long as you’re keeping up with your studies and following the visa rules, you can continue renewing your visa for the duration of your education in Indonesia.
Can my family join me in Indonesia under the E30 Visa?
Yes, your family members are allowed to accompany you in Bali while you study on the E30 Student Visa. However, they have to apply for a dependent visa, like the E31B Visa if you are married (Spouse of KITAS holder) or the E31C Visa if you have a child with Indonesian citizenship (Child of Indonesian Citizen). Remember that you will need to submit separate applications for each of their visas.
