New Immigration Regulation: Biometric Requirement Reinstated for Visa Extensions

Indonesia has officially reinstated biometric data collection for visa extension processes, effective June 1st 2025. The regulation applies to foreigners extending their visas and stay permits (e.g., VOA, Single Entry Visas, Multiple Entry Visas and KITAS) and is part of broader efforts to tighten immigration oversight nationwide.

Who Is Affected?

• Visa on Arrival Extensions
• Single Entry Visa Extensions
• Multiple Entry Visa extensions
  • Eg. Multiple Entry Tourist & Business Visa Extension, Multiple Entry Pre-Investment Visa Extension.
• KITAS extensions
  • Eg. Investor KITAS Extension, Working KITAS Extension, Family of Indonesian Citizen KITAS Extension, Family of KITAS Holder Extension, Retirement KITAS Extension.

What You Need to Do
